Are you passionate about supporting your community and making a meaningful difference in people’s lives? We are currently seeking dedicated Volunteer Community Transport Drivers to join our team and assist in delivering a flexible, reliable, and responsive door-to-door transport service for CRCS participants.

In this volunteer role, you will work closely with our Transport Coordinators to ensure participants receive safe, respectful, and person-centred transport support. This position requires empathy, adaptability, and strong problem-solving skills.

We offer reimbursement for approved out-of-pocket expenses related to your volunteer role. This may include mileage, travel to and from your volunteer activities, parking, and other pre-approved costs. Mileage is reimbursed at 99 cents per kilometre, helping cover vehicle expenses such as fuel and maintenance when using your own car. All expenses must be agreed to in advance with CRCS.

Volunteer Key Duties

  • Provide transport support for ageing and/or disabled CRCS participants.

  • Deliver a high-quality, safe, and person-centred community transport service.

  • Work collaboratively with Transport Coordinators and provide physical assistance where required.

  • Operate in accordance with CRCS Policies and Procedures.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A current driver’s licence with a safe and responsible driving record.

  • Current CPR and First Aid certificate, or willingness to obtain.

  • Understanding of the community services sector.

  • Familiarity with the ACT road network and Australian Road Rules.

  • Awareness of Work Health and Safety responsibilities.

CRCS also requires all volunteers to:

  • Report any convictions affecting eligibility to work or perform the inherent requirements of the position.
  • Undertake employment screening as required by CRCS, such as medical assessments, functional assessments, or psychological profiles.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a satisfactory Working with Vulnerable People registration (ACT) and/or a Working with Children Check (NSW), and have these with them at all times whilst employed by CRCS.
  • Undertake a National Criminal History Clearance by CRCS prior to commencing and every three years thereafter as a condition of employment. Employees are required to advise CRCS of any convictions that may effect their eligibility to work or perform the inherent requirements of their position
