CRCS is a dynamic and community-focused organization committed to enhancing the well-being of families in the Capital Region. We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Education and Care portfolio as Playgroup Assistant. This role involves supporting the Playgroup Facilitator in implementing a program at each of the playgroups across Canberra. It includes set-up and pack-up of each playgroup, sanitising equipment, engaging with children and their families.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in facilitating playgroups across ACT and Capital Regions - includes set-up and pack-up of groups in the community. 
  • Maintaining resources and resource storage, ensuring hygiene and safety standards.
  • Record-keeping and administration of group attendances and other relevant information in the relevant computer-based management system and hard files.
  • Working in partnership with the team of Family Education Practitioners and other Families team members to provide holistic support to families. 
  • Collating attendance records to provide data to Program Manager for reporting purposes as required.

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education qualification
  • First Aid certificate
  • Current Driver’s Licence and access to a roadworthy, registered and comprehensively insured vehicle for work purposes.
  • Knowledge and commitment to the CRCS Vision, Purpose, Values, and Strategic Goals.
  • Personal attributes of optimism, resilience, and flexibility.
  • Experience in delivering programs to a diverse demographic, including children, families, and seniors.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality customer service.
  • Ability to work flexible hours on occasion.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong time management skills, including effective forward planning, coordination, prioritization, and task management.
  • Proactive and responsive with the ability to apply initiative and problem-solving skills to identify and address issues.

CRCS also requires all employees to:

  • Hold or be willing to obtain a satisfactory Working with Vulnerable People registration (ACT) and/or a Working with Children Check (NSW), and have these with them at all times whilst employed by CRCS.
  • Undertake a National Criminal History Clearance by CRCS prior to commencing and every three years thereafter as a condition of employment. Employees are required to advise CRCS of any convictions that may effect their eligibility to work or perform the inherent requirements of their position
